Setsubun {Bean-Throwing Festival}

February 3rd is Setsubun which is a bean-throwing festival and the day before the beginning of spring in Japan. The woman who maintains our building came to our apartment to give the kids beans and Oni (demon) masks, which was very thoughtful. She speaks NO English, and all I could say in return was "Arigatou Gozaimasu” with a little bow because I know a hug and three “Hamilton pats” on the back would make her nervous!

Care Package

I have the best friends!! Thank you to my Virginia friends for my wonderful care package filled with American products! I can't wait to try out my new nail polishes and strawberry huller, and the kids were so excited when they saw a present for them. You are the best and I am so lucky to have friends like you.

For the two people that follow this blog (lol!), please check out Her Late Night Cravings
